We support the 1689 London Baptist Confession.

A Brief Confession of Faith Faith Community Church Dallas, Texas Who We Are "We are an evangelical, baptistic, transcultural, transdenominational Bible believing congregation. We worship the sovereign God who is calling people from all walks of life to serve Jesus Christ together in the fellowship of the local assembly." The Basics on our Common Belief We believe that there is one God who is revealed as Father, Son and Holy Spirit, the Creator and Sovereign of the universe.

We believe that the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the Word of God, our final authority in all matters of faith and practice. We believe that Adam and Eve were created sinless but through disobedience to God they fell and that as a result all their posterity (all of humanity) are born with a sinful nature that manifests itself in acts of transgression. Consequently, a person is dead spiritually unless he is made alive by the Spirit of God in conjunction with the message of God in Christ Jesus.

We believe Jesus of Nazareth, son of Mary, to be the Christ, who is fully human and fully deity. By his sinless life, vicarious death and bodily resurrection he secured the salvation of sinners. He is now in heaven but will return to the earth at the end of the age.

We believe that God created an innumerable company of angels to serve Him but a large number of them rebelled and became His enemies under Satan, the Devil, who is the originator of sin. He and his followers are the enemies of God's people and we fight against them with spiritual weapons. We believe in the divine person and work of the Holy Spirit who testifies of Christ Jesus and ministers to and through the church. We believe that salvation from sin and its consequences to forgiveness and eternal life is by the grace of God alone through faith in Jesus Christ the only Mediator between God and humankind.

We believe that sanctification is essentially belonging to God and growing toward spiritual maturity through the continuing activity of the Spirit in conjunction with life in the church. We believe that baptism and the Lord's Supper are two gospel ordinances observed by the believers to signify spiritual union with the Lord Jesus Christ in His saving deeds.

We believe that the Church is essentially the household of faith, united to Christ Jesus and indwelt by the Holy Spirit under the Word of God. We believe that the proclamation of the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ to all the people groups of the world is an essential ministry of the church.

We believe in the personal, bodily return of Jesus Christ to this earth to establish the eternal kingdom. We believe that the final destiny of mankind is either hell or heaven. And we believe in new heaven and earth in the eternal order following the resurrection and the judgment of the last day.

We believe the Bible is the inspired and only infallible and authoritative written Word of God (2 Tim. 3:16). We believe there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit (Mt. 28:19, Col. 2:9). We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His vicarious and atoning death, His bodily resurrection, His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and His bodily future return to this earth in power and glory to rule a thousand years (Lk. 1:26, 1 Th. 4:13-18). We believe the only means of being cleansed from sin is through repentance and faith in the precious blood of Christ (Heb. 9:12).
